Should I let my girlfriend wear my ‘name’ belt?
have one of those redneck/rock-a-billy belts with my name stamped in the leather at the back. I got it a couple of years ago as a groomsman’s gift for standing up in my buddy’s wedding. He makes this kind of stuff and sells them at craft shows. I don’t wear it very often, but my gf thinks it cool and she wants to wear it. I don’t know if she wants to wear it ’cause it has my name, or just because she likes the style. I don’t mind if she wears it, but she’s thinner than me and she would need to punch an extra hole in the belt where it doesn’t belong. I don’t want to say no, but I don’t want to ruin the belt. What should I do?
Just say that it means a lot to you and it is something special you got as a gift. Because of this, you would prefer for her not to wear your belt. I would not let her wear it because it was a gift and you don’t want to ruin it. Maybe she can wear something else of yours. Also, maybe you can have your friend make one for her as a gift for your anniversary, her birthday, or holiday gift.
